Mawi's powerful and steep waves demand a shortboard. This spot is reserved for advanced surfers. A shortboard's agility is essential for navigating the fast, powerful break that characterizes Mawi.
Be prepared for an intense, thrilling ride. But once you manage you understand it, you will probably love it. You have to take a 10 min dirt road to get here from the main road.
The dirt road gets very challenging when it rains, thats why its usually only surfed in the summer.
Sometimes you can catch a ride in the months of season change: October and March. Depending on the rainfall and the winds. An absolutely beautiful spot - also for a swim (you need high tide for that).
